I earned my bachelor's degree in English at Villanova University, and have had a successful career as an ELA teacher at the high school level for nearly 20 years now. I've also spent more years than that as a college prep coach. I have taught in all types of schools, including charter schools, private and public schools, and schools on Indian reservations. I take pride in the success I have achieved with students from all different racial, ethnic, academic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. In addition to teaching English/ Language Arts, I have had success teaching algebra, general science, and biology classes. I have had enough years teaching and tutoring to give me a wide perspective, and I have found that any student who wants to learn absolutely can. Also, I have seen that all students are gifted in one way or another. I encourage my students to put forth a consistent effort over the school year and more, and find great satisfaction in seeing them make real strides forward in their knowledge and abilities. I've had students of mine receive full scholarships to Ivy League schools, and winning other merit-based scholarships in various fields. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, cooking, traveling, and reading.
